are modern kids allergic to old-fashion fun?

i don't get it - what do you do for fun with kids that just want to sit on there computers. i took them to the park today to have a fun time without spending any money & all they did was just sit there in the park looking so depressed and tortured. what's with kids these days? there not happy unless you're spending money on them. what ever happened to just tag in the park or kicking a ball around to have fun without spending money?

too funny. i just came back from a run in the park and saw kids some friends at the park & they were mentioning the same thing as they pointed to there teenage kids just sitting like lumps ... texting ... in a park. carzy.

I have 1 teenager. She's 14 years old and her favorite saying is I'M BORED. I don't get it when kids say this. I think your right when you say kids are allergic to old fashion fun. It makes me sad actually when I think about it. They don't know how to enjoy the simple things. How will they manage to not be depressed when they get older?

I've been reading that this new group of kids are called "eco-boomers" ... & a big trait of theirs is "entitlement". So you probably won't see a lot of self-starters here.

my kids only go to park with their cell phone to text their friends. kids are very different these days.
