Hi - it's always a gamble like with any investment. But I have a rule of thumb I use from my 10 years as a mortgage guy (don't worry I was one of the honest ones so i got out about 4 years ago when things were getting dicy) ... back to the point. I usually try to buy in when 2 things happen: #1) everywhere you go to for get togethers, people are trading experiences of how much money they lost in real estate. One story out doing the other. This tells you the bottom is approaching. #2) then I just keep my money ready & look for a little momentum buying to tell me we're done skimming the bottom. In my opinion, I don't think we made the bottom yet, so I would still be in step #1 for now. Hope that helps.

Hi Singh, thanks for the great advice. Prices keep dropping, what do you think about the housing market now? Is it looking like we're getting closer to that buy time.

My brother just bought a cute little starter home. He's on cloud nine.
